Though the first year I had a hard time, I switched to another camp year number two, and liked it (both were in Mineoqua WI) I stayed for 5 years and then my 8th grade Summer switched to a coed camp in Maine. But, all in all, my camp memories will more than last a lifetime! I made a ton of friends, sometimes I had friends join me at camp, but all in all it's a memory you can't pass up. School doesn't compare...and I wish they could. But, when your at camp you have a sense of freedom that you don't get at school. I don't think you can begin to compare the two. You grow up at camp. You learn from your friends (peers) , but in a different way. I shaved my legs for the first time at camp.....I was 11. My friends were doing it, they showed me how. My Mother freaked when she found out " Now you will always have to shave, because you started it). But it was ok. All it meant, was that I grew up that Summer.
